6 ways our pets remind us to be thankful

As the pace of the year speeds up and we wonder “where has all that traffic come from”, and “how am I going to fit everything in before Christmas”?
Here are 6 reasons why our pets deserve all our gratitude.

#1 They are great listeners 
Pets are naturally empathetic. When we feel sad, they notice.
They provide wonderful emotional support because they
1) keep all our secrets and
2) don’t offer advice- although sometimes I think the advice they might give (get outdoors and play) would be worth listening to.

#2 They give us unconditional love
Slobbery kisses, headbutts, purrs, wagging tails…all of these behaviors are a sign of their unconditional love. It comes with no strings attached. We are so lucky to be the recipients of this endless love!

#3 They are perfect exercise buddies
We should also appreciate our furry friends for their ability to keep us active. No one can get you out of bed and exercising as successfully as your pet! Dogs need walks. Cats crave playtime. For them, keeping our pets in the best of physical and mental health is called environmental enrichment and it helps keep us fit and healthy too!  

#4 Laughter
I don’t know about your day, but working with so many amazing pet parents and fur babies helps me to laugh every single day.
Watching your fur baby’s quirky personality can instantly boost your mood. Remember to be thankful for the laughs. 

#5 Cuddles
Pets are the best snuggle buddies! Their fluffy bodies and big, soulful eyes make them perfect companions for cozying up whatever your mood. 

#6 They give us the opportunity to slow down and be mindful.   
Whether it is the time we spend brushing them and feeling the softness of their coat, or listening to the birds while we are walking with them, spending these moments mindfully will help to slow down our busy brains and
